ZERO CENTERLINE POROSITY - Centerline or core porosity occurs when the acetal's outer layer solidifies faster resulting in a loss of volume in the rod's core. This is a big issue in acetal homopolymers. Acetal copolymers naturally have lower centerline porosity but with an excellent manufacturing process, it is possible to achieve zero centerline porosity, preventing outgassing and water penetration.
HIGHLY MACHINABLE - Aside from machining on a lathe, acetal copolymers are easy to cut using power saws and easy to sand using power sanders.
